Our History

Owners Douglas Capener and Kermit Coggeshall, both born and raised in Iowa, grew up on the farm as farm people who
gravitate towards the meat industry. 
In the 1960’s Douglas had be  part of Wilson  & Co (later owned by IBP) and Kermit with Swift, they later met each other as coworkers in a trading company and became friends and  long life partners. In 1981 with both of their experiences they decided to start  Midland Foods Inc and opened the first office on Dallas Tx.

Our Journey

1981

Where It All Began

Midland Foods Inc.
Midland Foods Inc. was established and our first office opened in Dallas, Texas.

1987

New Name

Midland Foods Inc. was renamed Midland Foods Distribution after growing success.

2019

A New Chapter

Midland Foods Distribution was renamed Midland Foods LLC after the passing of Kermit Coggeshall, honoring the company’s legacy while preparing for the future.

2020

Strengthening Leadership

Tony Dominguez rejoined the team as joint partner to Douglas Capener strengthening leadership and supporting continued growth.

2021

International Expansion
We started to bring in international partners to our domestic customers. 

2024

Transformation & Growth
We decided 2024 is a time for change and transformation and introduced our new corporate branding.
